The ECIIA 2022 Conference

The Institute of Internal Auditors Belgium (IIA Belgium) has been selected to host the ECIIA annual conference in 2022.

The ECIIA conference takes place every year in a different European country and welcomes delegates from different countries worldwide. The conference will be held in Brussels with the main programme going from October 6th to 7th, 2022. The theme of the conference is “Internal Audit in a world of transition” and will have as main topics sustainability, innovation, digital world, soft skills, and new regulations.

A reception will be held on the 5th of October at Bozar. And gala dinner will take place on the evening of October 6th at Autoworld.

The ECIIA 2022 conference is expected to attract more than 800 delegates and around 50 speakers over a 2 days programme.

The European Confederation of Internal Auditors (ECIIA)

The ECIIA´s role is to enhance corporate governance through the promotion of the professional practices of internal auditing. The ECIIA members comprise national institutes of internal auditing from countries that fall within the wider European region.

It is part of their mission to help them develop, share and promote best practice in the private and public sectors. The ECIIA counts 48 500 members.

The ECIIA is heavily involved in advertising and consulting with other European institutions on internal auditing and represents members to governments, policy-makers, professional bodies and to the media. ECIIA members belong to the IIA Global network, a body that represents over 180’000 internal auditors across worldwide. ECIIA works in close collaboration with the Global IIA to promote the professional practice of internal auditing in Europe.

The ECIIA represents the consolidated voice for the profession of internal auditing in Europe and promotes the role of internal audit and good corporate governance by dealing with the European Union, its Parliament and Commission and any other European regulators and associations representing key stakeholders.

The IIA is the standard and guidance setting body for the internal audit profession globally and promotes guidance following rigorous due processes. IIA Belgium is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to the advancement and development of the internal audit profession in Belgium.
